15 Different types of models in the fashion world

Let's see the different types of models in the fashion world.

1. Fashion model - editorial
Fashion models are also called editorial models. Editorial or 'print' modeling refers to storytelling through images. It includes exhibition designers, current fashion or beauty trends, the latest in makeup, hair, skincare, etc. which are illustrated through a pictorial history. These publishers are highly coveted as they set current trends in the industry. Fashion models generally grace the covers of international fashion magazines such as Elle, Glamor, and Vogue, and are employees of major fashion houses.
The standard height requirement for a female fashion model is 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet. For men, the required height is 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 3 inches. These types of models must follow a fairly strict lifestyle regimen. Diet and fitness are two areas that require specific attention. Along with that, professionalism and an ambitious perspective are needed.

2. Fashion model - catalogue
With the rise of the Internet, catalogue models are in demand, more than ever before. They set new fashion trends in print catalogues and are also taking over the digital world. Catalogue models are required to be more like real people, to capture the attention of the customer's diverse audience. Its purpose is to attract customers to buy products or take advantage of its services, using catchy images and well-written content. Therefore, they do not really adhere to the strict requirements of fashion models. However, they must have a striking personality, the right attitude, healthy skin and hair, and a million-watt smile. Depending on the catalogue, the customer establishes her requirements for short, tall, young, old, slim or plus size models of various ethnicities.

3. Business model
Business models can wear different hats according to customer demands. They can be of any age, size, shape, and height, as their work ranges from advertising a particular product to marketing a particular service or promotional events for household items, food, travel, cosmetics, etc. Business models work in the print, digital, retail, and television industries. Your job is to fit into retail clothing or to successfully endorse a product or service. Consequently, at the industry standard sample size, business models are contracted if they are between 5'6 "to 5'11" for women and men must be between 5'9 "to 6'2". It is never too late to start working as a mature professional model. More than experience, it is important that you feel comfortable behind the frame, that you exude grace and a warm personality and that you have a professional attitude. A mature model is generally over 35-40 years old and healthy and in good physical shape. Grays, wrinkles, or age spots are not a concern for a mature model. Various high-end fashion magazines, leading fashion houses and streetwear brands are opening up to the idea of using models of different ages for their campaigns and catalogues. There are also tasks in the health, pharmaceutical and editorial areas. Daphne Selfe, Frances Dunscombe, Charles Schumann have proven that age is just a number and it is never too late to succeed in the fashion world.

Promotional models are also known as promotional models or brand ambassadors. They generally work on consumer-driven brand assignments. They are part of promotional events, trade shows, digital launches, live shows and conventions. They must be outgoing and highly interactive, as an important part of their job is to drive consumer demand for a specific product or service, interacting directly with potential customers. This is a popular form of brand advertising or marketing. In addition to being conventionally attractive, a promotional model must be articulate, intelligent, clearly understand customer requirements, and have a deep understanding of the product. The more work a promotional model does, the more chances you will have of finding a job and being noticed by professionals and industry experts.

A part model specializes in modeling specific body parts, such as the hands, legs, feet, and facial features. A parts model works in editorial, advertising, and catalogue work. This type of modeling focuses on very specific visual requirements. For example

Fit Models works with fashion designers and manufacturers to ensure that each garment has the ideal fit, drape, fit and movement. Since the garment and fashion industries cater to a broader audience, their samples are made with a variety of shapes and sizes in mind. Your products cannot be shipped without verifying the size of your garments. That's where the role of a fit model comes into play. Fit models do not need to have editorial and runway figures printed in magazines, but their job requires that they be well-toned and maintain constant body weight, whether small or large.
With an ideal size of 6 or 8 physicals, fitted models play a very important role in the way the clothes we buy really fit.

8. Fitness Model
Physical modeling is a highly competitive industry that requires a lot of work, determination, and dedication. Most fitness models are health enthusiasts. Most of the time, fitness models have an athletic background. They maintain a healthy lifestyle, eat clean, and radiate positive energy. As the name implies, swimsuits and lingerie model-specific garments of the model, such as lingerie, swimsuit, summer and nightwear. 11. Child model
Think of babies with their eyes open, smiling from ear to ear, dressing in the latest children's couture items or endorsing a range of products. Agencies generally look for children who are friendly, happy, interactive, audience-friendly, and fast learners. They are generally under the age of 13. From editorial work to advertising contracts, a secondary model can be used in various projects. The size and height of a secondary model vary from project to project. Since the requirements are not very flexible, it is a difficult industry to enter. Most fashion designers hire models to fit their collections. Skinny models are preferred.

15. Independent model
Independent models are not full-time models. They work in buds according to a project or requirement. They are practically not represented by a modeling agency or a particular agent. Therefore, they need to be effectively marketed to attract potential customers. They are responsible for marketing, promotion, branding, and networking. Independent models must be extremely independent as it does not depend on any modeling agency. They need to create a very robust online portfolio of various photo shoots and work experiences. Having a portfolio website that reflects personality and shows versatility works as a great advantage. Attending promotional events and being active on various social media platforms will strengthen your career in business. The requirements for stand-alone models depend on the type of modeling they want to pursue.

10 tricks to look better in pictures

How to look better in your shoot pictures:

Not all are born as photogenic models that look good in every image, but no matter what type of model you are, these 10 tricks will help you the next time you pose in front of the camera!

1. Don't say cheese
Instead of saying "cheese" say "cute" or "money". The "e" will make you smile and your eyes will wrinkle in a more natural way.

2. Use your language
Although it may sound strange for the first time, try to keep your tongue behind your teeth and lightly touch your palate while smiling. Helps avoid double chin and wide smile as it lengthens the neck and jawline.

3. Avoid direct shots

Know your angle and try turning your body ¾ towards the camera. Try tilting your chin up or down a little and don't look directly into the camera.

4. Hello, cheekbones!
Everyone has a different "side", so try turning your head left and right to find out which side is best. The good site is commonly said to be left because it shows the cheekbones.

5. Take a deep breath

Before taking the picture, feel relaxed. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and then open your eyes before the shutter clicks.

6. Posture
Keep your shoulders back and straight, stand erect but at the same time, stay relaxed.

7. Try something new
Try other poses and not the normal "hip and smile" pose. Do whatever you can think of and feel natural. Laugh, flip your hair, have a drink, look elsewhere ...

8. Cross your ankles
Try to cross your ankles, it will make your hips look narrower and your legs look longer. Also, try to get on your tiptoes a bit to make your legs look longer and look taller than you are!

9. Position your arms
Don't forget to put your arms in a fixed position and don't let them move awkwardly. Place the arm closest to the camera on your hip. That posture ensures that the upper arm is not pressed against the body, making it look flattened.

10. Experiment with style
Try to prevent all your images from looking the same. Put on more daring makeup, change your wardrobe and change the background. You will be amazed at how good it looks!

11 steps to get a perfect shoot

Popularity - Name - Fame

Positive Attitude & Manners are something we use them to make a good impression on the people around us and also to feel good about ourselves. The same should count for the photoshoots!
Whether you are an aspiring model or a professional model: one thing that matters is preparation. The rule says: a great model is a prepared one. Your photographer and clients will thank you!
With the following tips, you can make sure you look professional and improve your brand and career long-term and produce photoshoot that you can be proud of!
Understanding that we all have needs, feelings, and thoughts is the first step in creating an atmosphere where everyone is comfortable.
Keep in mind that the photographer has a lot on his plate: from adjusting his settings, working with creative staff and being responsible for the entire shoot. Especially if it's your first photoshoot, a model who understands the stress and nervousness can help things run smoothly.

1. Find a photographer
If you haven't been booked for a session but have a great concept/ project idea or want to improve your portfolio, don't worry. You can go to www.priyamphotography.com

2. Organize photoshoot
Once you've booked or found a photographer to collaborate with, a good habit, in any profession is to make arrangements regarding time, location, duration, and pay. Ejecting these things after photoshoot can be tricky. Be flexible and able to adapt to the photographer's ideas, as they have a vision in mind. If you have to comment due to distance or time, please communicate those points in a professional and non-demanding way. In the end, you two want to work together as a team to create fantastic images.

3. Payment and image rights
Models are always entitled to guaranteed payment. However, if you and the photographer prefer to use TFP/CFCD make sure all necessary points are covered as well, like what kind of images you will receive and if you can share them with the public. Especially if you want to use them for your portfolio, ask the photographer if they want their name mentioned. Image rights can be confusing and challenging terrain due to the many laws and regulations.

4. Be on time
Nothing can ruin a photoshoot more than a model who is late for a shoot. Check the location beforehand and make sure you get there early enough in case you can't find the place. It is always better to be somewhere before and wait rather than being too late.

5. Clothes and accessories
Speaking of preparation! Do you need to wear a specific outfit or accessory? Be sure to get it ahead of time, or if you already have it, make sure it's washed and clean. The same care is also required for your skincare or makeup if necessary. Whether male or female model, make sure you have a bag with all your necessities, such as foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush, translucent powder for an occasional touch-up. The same counts for a hairbrush, bobby pins, elastics, lacquers and gel. Toned or black underwear is also important. A selection of different underwear is always helpful as the photographer may have a variety of different garments that require different underwear.

6. Friends and family

Also, if you want to bring a friend, partner, or family member to support you, be considerate and ask the photographer first. They will surely understand and welcome the idea if it makes you feel more comfortable. And what makes you feel comfortable makes the images look great. A win-win!

7. During photoshoot
To achieve amazing photos, it is of utmost importance to rest and relax. Don't toss and sleep all night or worry about the photoshoot. Any bit of tiredness or stress is amplified through a lens. Take care of yourself, eat a balanced meal and get enough sleep. and the model feels as comfortable as possible. As long as you are relaxed, genuine and professional, the model will be too. Check out 10 tricks to look better in pictures.

8. Distractions
To keep things running smoothly, it's a good idea to turn off your mobile phone, just as you would when you sit down to dinner.

9. Touching
Touching another person without their consent is also not a good idea and should be taken seriously. Yes; however, a lock of hair must be removed from your face, let the photographer do it, only, of course, if you have been asked in advance. If you feel uncomfortable with something, don't be afraid to mention it. The photographer may not have noticed and will appreciate being informed.

10. Caring for basic needs
Be sure to bring bottled water and some healthy snacks that give you energy and don't stink or mess when you eat them. But remember: never eat while wearing the client's clothing, or at least cover yourself with a towel to protect it.

11. Interacting with each other
This advice goes hand in hand with how they talk to each other. Don't be too familiar or worse, make inappropriate jokes. This tip goes both ways!

Bottom line
And remember, it is not just appearance that counts to qualify a job, but also your attitude and professionalism. So get ready and think about the other people working on the set. But most importantly, have fun! Nothing makes images look better than you and the photographer having a good time. Be yourself, be professional and considerate. And enjoy the moment when you can see the end result.

Modeling Scams

Scams you should Avoid

This is unfortunate that scammers can be found everywhere and within the modeling industry they are plentiful. The glamorous appeal of the modeling world leaves the door open for scammers so that especially young people are highly vulnerable. Who wouldn't want to sign a contract or get a job that shows they can make a lot of money with multiple zeros at the end of the number, for very little effort?

Let's discuss for a moment exactly how scams work.

A scam is when one person (usually pretending to be someone else) tricks another into separating themselves from their money. There are many examples of scams and these are just a few:

1. They promise you big wages
One of the most typical modeling scams would be for the scammer to tell a model or someone who wants to be a model that they have been selected for an amazing project with a big brand, or a role in a new movie where the model payment will receive thousands and sometimes even millions of dollars (or the appropriate currency). The trust of the model is earned through a couple of emails or text messages and they are convinced that the customer only wants them. There are cases when the model may not have even applied for that job.

2. If you don't act now, there will be no other chance
Don't be pressured by someone who tells you to say yes fast! Take your time to analyze the information. Any great job that is worth a lot of money would normally be part of a long process that would include clients, advertising agencies, photographers, directors, etc. And if someone were interested in you, there would be time to discuss it properly. If you really have potential and have everything you need to become a model, you won't just have a chance! The best thing to do with these types of offers is to share the information with parents, friends and others who are already in the industry and get their opinion.

3. You have to pay a fee before they work with you
At this point, the scammer will explain that the model will have to pay some money upfront (yes, you already guessed it, but it is much easier to guess in an article about scams) and the model will return the money with their first BIG paycheck. . What can go wrong? Sure you have to pay some money, but that is nothing compared to what you will earn. It's just that you won't win it. You won't win anything. You will send the money in good faith and you will wait ... and you will wait ... and you will wait. Until you realize you've been scammed!

4. They guarantee you will get a secure job
If someone says they guarantee you will get a job, take a moment to think about it. No matter how good you look, no one can guarantee that you will work, it is like saying that I guarantee that the weather will be sunny all day tomorrow. No one has a crystal ball, so scammers use these types of terms to separate your money. The best you can do is work with reputable professionals, agencies, and companies and do whatever it takes to succeed in modeling by working hard and applying to verified castings.

5. Scammers may pretend to be priyamphotography.com or another company
It is very easy for scammers to pretend they are someone else or even pretend they are a company. We see it on a daily basis, as scammers constantly pretend to be us. Priyam Photography words are placed in a document or within an email, but the email address is not our email, or there is a phone number that is not our phone number

How do you protect yourself from being scammed? Well, Follow these guidelines and it should be fine:

1. Verify the person, the company and the website.
Check your name online on Google and see if they look legitimate. When someone impersonates another, you can always call them or send a confirmation message through their website to verify that they actually contacted you. Remember to use the contact information on your website and not the ones you have received from them.

2. Check with your parents or good friends.
Have them read this article to make sure everyone understands the risks that might exist, as sometimes friends can be as excited as you are. It is also highly recommended to go to any live casting, reunions, or sessions with a parent.

3. Just for example, if they say they work for priyamphotography.com.
It’s your responsibility to confirm authenticity. You need to check with us and wait for a response from our team. Contact us at models@priyamphotography.com or Call/What's app: +91 9126469849. There is only one priyamphotography.com and I am a photographer, not a modeling agency or modeling manager.

Please note that the only email addresses used by priyamphotography.com have the domain @ priyamphotography.com. We use only one Gmail id, which is priyamphotography@gmail.com.

Warning: Someone can contact you using similar looking email addresses like priyam_photography@gmail.com or other similar domains like agent@priyamphotographer.com to trick you. Be careful, don't reply to these emails and let us know about it!

4. Always read the fine print of any contract.
If you are told to sign a contract, never feel pressured to sign it right away without really understanding what you are signing. Anyone who pressures you to sign it when in doubt will not be the type of person you want to work with anyway. Some people feel great about using bullying, don't buy it, there is always time to think about something.

5. Never send money to anyone.
No matter how tempting or surprising an offer is, don't do it, as you won't see your money or that person again.

6. Sign a contract before the shooting.

Before carrying out any work, make sure that the person in charge of the project grants you a contract to sign from both sides, which guarantees the payment and the use of the image of the created content. Request a digital contract.

Get Ready for the Photo Shoot

Most professional models know by experience about what needs to b done b4 a photo shoot. If u do not have a lot of modeling experience I suggest u look over the following list of things that will help u 4 this shoot and in the future. The more of these guidelines u follow the better ur shots will turn out.

Body hair: Be sure to take care of all hair removal prior to a shoot, but leave at least 2-3 days between when you wax/shave any sensitive areas (such as your bikini line) and ur shoot date. This time is necessary to allow for any irritation to disappear b4 ur shoot.

Nails: Take care of ur nails. B sure that ur nails r neat and well maintained. Short nails r preferred. A natural, non-colored, or French manicure look is preferable. If u plan on posing barefoot,be sure ur feet and toes are in good condition.

Hair: Check ur hair! If it has been a while since you had a trim, now is the time. Just be sure ur hairdresser knows that he/she can't go too wild this time. If you hair is dry, opt for a deep conditioning treatment. If u colour ur hair, get a refresher or have ur roots done. Now is NOT the time to try new hair colour/style or beauty treatment! Do NOT arrive to ur shoot with damp or wet hair expecting it to be completely styled! Bring a hair brush along as the photographer will want to show your hair off with various looks. Wear your hair natural and down, unless you have been given other directions by the photographer or your agency in advance. Bring a couple hair clips or rubber bands to put your hair up or in a different style.

Teeth: If you plan on showing ur smile, be sure that ur teeth are ready for prime-time. If your teeth are discoloured, you may want to consider having them cleaned/whitened.

Eat : Eat something light before the photo shoot. U will need ur energy.

Water :The secret for beautiful skin. Drink plenty of water starting a week in advance of your photo shoot. This will hydrate ur skin.

Rest: Get plenty of rest the night before our photoshoot. Ur energy will shine through in each pose!

Plz bring a robe, or blanket, or large towel (something easy to take off and put on) to cover up with and keep warm if necessary.

Posing: Practise different poses in the mirror at home - different faces (smiling, seductive, happy etc) (look in magazines for ideas)

Sun block: Between now and the photo shoot please be conscious of exposure to the sun and use sun block

Skin Care: The day before and of your shoot Exfoliate your entire body and face and moisturize using a non-greasy, non shimmering lotion.

Clothes: Make sure that your clothes are not busy. No florals, pinstripes or pictures. Plain colours are best. Busy clothes can take attention away from the model. Don’t wear tight clothes (bra or underwear) prior to our photo shoot since these leave strap marks and take a while to go away. Wear a button front shirt to protect hair and make-up so you don't pull it over u head to remove it.

Deodorant: If you are going to wear a sleeveless top, do not wear deodorant. It will show up in the photo. If you wear perfume to the photo shoot (not recommended), make sure it's very light. Photographers studios are not always large and strong perfume will overwhelm the photographer and the others who have to work with u.

Jewelry: B careful about the jewelry you're going to wear - again this can be distracting.

Avoid breakouts: No matter what the temptation, stay away from new makeup and skin care products just before a photo shoot. You could be in for a big, unwanted surprise by having a reaction to these new experiments. Just stay with what u know works 4 u.

Makeup: Discuss if a make-up artist will be on the set, if so arrive with clean hair and absolutely no make-up. All traces of makeup should be gone from your skin. All eyeliner and mascara should be gone.Ur face should b clean and product free when u arrive.

Lips: Avoid dry lips by putting Vaseline on your lips before bed and the morning of your shoot. Exfoliate your lips by brushing them when you brush your teeth.

Eyebrows: Have ur brows professionally shaped and then keep them up by plucking the strays every few days. I will Pluck strays the day of the shoot but probably will not have time to shape ur brows.

Tidy up: everything about u from head to toe should be at its best and clean. (fingernails, toenails, nose hair, back of neck shaved, etc.)

Check on makeup, clothing and prop requirements. Unless you’re already working professionally (and often even if u are) u will probably have to supply ur own. Make sure u have what you need.

72 hours before ur photo shoot, avoid the following items (these items can give you oily skin and swelling):
a. Red meat
b. Alcohol
c. Caffeine
d. Spicy foods
e. Retin A and Alpha Hydroxy creams (causes skin peeling that will show with photo makeup)

Tan Lines: For body (lots of skin showing) shots, b sure u get rid of tan lines by visiting a tanning booth a few times.

Skin: Coconut Oil or shea butter is great for keeping the skin glowing.Treat ur body with TLC from top to toe.

Music: Bring your own MP3 collection in pen drive. The music you like to listen to will help you relax.

Be on time. (On time is 30 minutes early)

7 Ways to Make ur Skin Look Better b4 Photo Shoot

Ur photo shoot is on the horizon and you're worried about the small breakout on ur cheek or the sudden oiliness of your temples. Before a photo shoot, take care of ur skin so that ur photographer has to do as little digital editing as possible to remove blemishes or even out the coloring in ur face. Beautiful skin doesn't occur overnight, so start ur skin preparation at least two weeks in advance.

Instructions:

1. Stay away from oil-producing foods and foods that cause ur face to swell. These foods include red meat, alcohol, caffeine and spicy foods.

2. Hide ur face from the sun. It would be unfortunate to get a sunburn before a photo shoot. Not only does a sunburn tint your face, it can start to peel just in time for u to stand in front of the camera. If u r treating a sunburn, use aloe vera to speed the healing.

3. Get your waxing, tweezing or other hair removal procedures done a week in advance. If you wax your brows or upper lip days before ur shoot, you may still have redness, swelling or little bumps from the impact of the waxing.

4. Apply cold cucumber slices to ur face every night. Cover ur cheeks, temples, forehead, chin, nose and eyes with the cucumber to reduce redness, swelling or puffiness. This is also an effective way to rehydrate your skin. Leave the cucumbers on for 20 minutes.

5. Get plenty of rest for a week straight before your shoot. Darkened skin around your eyes will be a dead giveaway that you are sleep-deprived or stressed.

6. Exfoliate your skin gently for a week before ur shoot. Exfoliating removes dead cells in the top layer of your skin and revives ur skin to give it a healthy glow. Don't scrub ur face too hard, however, or u can cause scarring.

7. Wash your face with cool water multiple times throughout the day, on the days leading up to ur photo shoot.

You r the ONE- Get the STAR effects:
Treat yourself like a Celebrity, the stage is ur playground, u don’t need to prove …u already proven… u r just performing…think like THAT. Think like a Star. Switch on ur true self - switch off all “try to do stuff ’  like…oooh, I just NEED a break in film/ad film/…u know better. Why u NEED? Why can’t u crossed this mental limitation of need, want… feelings?? There is NO EXTRA fees u need to pay if u feel like STAR!!

Film vs. Ur 1 day folio shoot (acting folio):

Typically a film needs 6 months to complete. Where u will play only one character, may b among 6 main characters. Where only 60 sec. from ur total role may make u eligible for the award. But at ur photo shoot, u will get the only 8hrs to play all 6 characters at award-winning level( if u want an acting folio). And in your mind “…oh my God!! I m just new …I don’t know anything…” just stop this nonsense! …only apply ur sense on how many and which are those character u r good at. Note it down and share it with ur photographer. FEEL like you have already given ur date to 6 different projects on that same day. And in every film ur role is different….Well, how is that!!! This may help to prepared ur mind for a ROCK ON performance and a mind-blowing folio.
